| For more than 20 years, Robin Creasman has been entertaining audiences around the world. From his early rock n' roll days as a recording artist with USA Records where he traveled internationally performing to thousands of music fans; to his days as a television producer where he developed programming for network and cable outlets such as NBC, CBS Cable, ESPN, PAX TV, TNN, and the BBC; to today where he speaks, entertains & produces products that motivates people to take action, quit making excuses and live life to its fullest!
Robin began his entertainment career as a musician performing publicly during his junior high school days and continued through his college years at Baylor University. Striving for the elusive rock star recording contract, Robin decided to pursue his music dream professionally. He moved to Dallas and started a band named Backstreet with his cousin Chris and they achieved local success quickly being voted the Best Pop/Rock Band in Dallas by the Dallas Observer three years in a row and one of the Top 10 Bands in Texas by Billboard Magazine. They were featured on the Miller Rock to Riches Tour and the Texas Best Rock Album.
And in just a short time they were asked to audition for Ed McMahon's new national television talent show called Star Search, which cast them into the national spotlight. Even though they lost the $100,000 grand prize to country music group Sawyer Brown, the attention they received brought new opportunities and levels of success to the band.
They went on to record three albums, one with USA Records, and shared the stage with such top artists as The Pointer Sisters, Three Dog Night, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Starship, Restless Heart, Firefall, Pure Prairie League, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
After five years of continued growth, but failing to break-out on the national music charts, Robin was offered a job opportunity he couldnt pass up -- the national marketing director of a highly successful independent record label owned by a well-known music executive & recording artist.
Recently married and wanting to get off the road and maintain more of a normal lifestyle, Robin accepted and spent the next several years working on the business side of the music industry. He produced records, developed marketing campaigns, and oversaw the day-to-day operations of this national record label. He even held the position of the Project Director for the Dallas Cowboys Christmas Album (Yes, they sing too, although some might argue this fact!). During this time he traveled extensively delivering seminars on How to Get Started in the Music Business to audiences all over the US.
Immediately following this time he built a state-of-the-art recording studio and for the next three years produced records for Contemporary Christian, Pop and Rock 'n Roll artists; national radio jingles, & local music spots for the corporate market. But ultimately, all of this led to Robin being introduced to the world of television production.
Through a mutual friend, Robin was asked to join ranks with an up-&-coming boutique television production company in Dallas. The plan was to produce music related television specials & series for cable and network television. And it worked.
As senior producer for MorningStar Entertainment Group, presenting programming ideas to television networks was a struggle at first, but then the floodgates opened after the highly successful series of specials for TNN (The Nashville Network) entitled Full Access On Tour hit the airwaves. It was a behind-the-scenes look at Country Music's hottest stars while on tour that featured Trisha Yearwood with Vince Gill; Travis Tritt with Waylon Jennings; Joe Diffie with George Jones; Pam Tillis with Brooks & Dunn; Kathy Mattea with Emmylou Harris; and George Jones & Tammy Wynette with Alan Jackson, to name a few.
This lead to other great opportunities like the Deccas Records television special he produced for CBS Cable and the BBC, entitled Not Fade Away: Remembering Buddy Holly, a musical tribute to Buddy Holly hosted by Waylon Jennings that featured Paul McCartney, Graham Nash, Mark Knofler, The Band, and 14 others world class music legends.
Then came No Secrets: Rebecca St. James which was nominated for Best Music Documentary by the Gospel Music Association. In addition, there were a number of weekly lifestyle television series that aired through the years on TNN, PAX, & FOX Sports All of this success led to the company signing with the William Morris Agency who represented famous movie stars, directors/producers/authors, and celebrities. This relationship opened the door for Robin to produce the television biography for a new face in the national sports world, 4 Time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Jeff Gordon. Robin went on to produce three other specials with Jeff as host (one for NBC) and three specials for NASCAR & ESPN including NASCARs 50th Anniversary Special. Many of Robin's productions have been featured in popular publications such as TV Guide, People Magazine and USA Today. As a matter of fact, TV Guide named one of Robins television series Go Fish, one of the Top 10 Kids Shows of 1996.
SEASON OF CHANGE
While the gang at MorningStar Entertainment Group were wildly producing entertaining television shows featuring some of the top names in the entertainment industry, the corporate world was shifting behind-the-scenes.
TNN, known as The Home Of Country Music and America's Heartland, was the network to many of Robin's productions, but it was sold and thereby changed programming styles. Not once, but twice. ESPN lost the NASCAR contract to NBC & FOX, which had offered so many opportunities, and then PAX TV was bought by NBC who also changed the programming content at the network.
So, when the gang finally came up for air after completing another great production, they quickly realized that the playing field had changed and no one was on the same team as before. They all screamed together, "Who Moved My Cheese?"
So after 14 years of living on a deadline, in the fast lane, and always on the go, Robin decided to go out on his own, slow the pace a little, and take control of his life. He was offered office space from a top company in the professional speaking industry, The International Speakers Bureau. So he set up shop in the arts & entertainment district of downtown Dallas as Robin Creasman Productions with plans to produce commercials & corporate programs for the local market and live a simpler & easier lifestyle.
This connection exposed him to the world of professional speaking and its many opportunities. Robin was quickly in high demand to produce video information products, speaker videos, & live events for corporations all across the US. Numerous professional speakers called on Robin to produce videos for them and to coach them on their presentation skills, marketing materials & how to be more entertaining in their speaking.
To date, Robin has produced and/or coached over 100 speaker videos for internationally known professional speakers such as… Olympians Vince Poscente & Cary Mullen, Mark Sanborn, Amanda Gore, Victoria Labalme, Larry Gatlin, John Cleese, and a whole host of others.
All of this leads us to where Robin is today.
Through this exposure to the meeting industry, Robin began to see a niche that wasnt being served, a content rich presentation where entertainment was the primary focus, but offered a motivating & success driven message. This would give him the opportunity to get back to his first love -- music & live performance, but without the full-time touring schedule. But more importantly, it would give the meeting industry a program that attendees would absolutely love and meeting planners would look like heros for booking something that was fun, exciting and relevant. Not the same-old stuff that happens at every other convention. Its a win-win for everyone!
Today, Robin's main focus is sharing his entertaining message of how to Stand Out Like A Rock Star in your personal and professional life - Success Lessons from the World of Rock and Roll.
